Duties and responsibilities of the Department for European Integration and Policy Coordination are:

• Provides support in co-ordinating activities for the European integration process;
• Monitor and report on the implementation of European Commission recommendations;
• Provides support for the harmonization of ministry legislation with the acquis communautaire;
• Coordinates the Ministry’s activities for financial support from the Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA) and other European Union funds;
• Contributes to the exchange of information in the function of the European Integration process, the field of activity of the ministries;
• Coordinates the activities of the ARD regarding the implementation of the obligations deriving from the European agenda.;
• The Head of the Department for European Integration and Policy Coordination reports to the Secretary General of the MRD.
• Within this Department are the Divisions as follows:
• Division for European Integration;
• Division for Policy Coordination;
• The number of employees in the Department for European Integration and Policy Coordination is five (5).
