Today, the acting Minister of the Ministry of Regional Development, Mr. Rasim Demiri, hosted a delegation of businessmen from the Republic of Turkey, with whom he discussed cooperation and investment opportunities in the Republic of Kosovo.
The main topic of the meeting was investment opportunities from Turkish companies, with particular emphasis on the renewable energy sector, namely projects for the installation of solar panels.
During the meeting, Minister Demiri informed the guests about the scope, mandate and competencies of the Ministry of Regional Development. He emphasized that investments in the energy sector are of great importance for the socio-economic development of the country, but explained that the MRD does not have a legal mandate and competencies to handle investments in this field.
However, Minister Demiri expressed his willingness to support the investors’ initiative, emphasizing that he will convey their will and interest to the competent institutions responsible for the energy sector, so that they receive the necessary information and support.
For their part, the Turkish investors thanked Minister Demiri for the warm welcome, his willingness and commitment to orient and assist them within the framework of institutional competencies.
At this meeting, Minister Demiri was accompanied by Ylber Çitaku, Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Regional Development.
