MRD concludes workshop on establishing Regional Development Centres

Today, on 7 August 2026, within the second day of the workshop on establishing Regional Development Centres, the Ministry of Regional Development, in cooperation with the Regional Development Agencies, held discussions focused on the next steps of the process.

The second day of the workshop was opened by the First Acting Deputy Minister of MRD, Ali Dula, who assessed the progress achieved during the workshop and the importance of continuous cooperation and coordination for the functionalization of Regional Development Centres.

During today’s proceedings, the focus was on discussing the role of Regional Development Agencies in supporting this process, as well as on examining modalities for strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and coordination between the institutions and partners involved.

During the meeting, the participants worked on drafting subsequent documents for the implementation of the Inter-Municipal Cooperation Agreement, aiming at creating the necessary basis for the functionalization of the Regional Development Centres.

The works were concluded with the finalization of the working documents, agreement on the next steps and the division of responsibilities between the relevant institutions, aiming at a coordinated and efficient implementation of activities in the next phase of the process.

Through this workshop, MRD reaffirms its commitment to strengthening regional development and deepening inter-institutional cooperation, aiming at creating sustainable mechanisms that contribute to the balanced development of all regions of the country.

In addition to representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development, the meeting was also attended by representatives of the Regional Development Agencies.
