Today, on 6 August 2026, the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD) has launched a two-day workshop, which focuses on coordinating activities and coordinating further steps for the establishment of Regional Development Centres (RDCs).
The proceedings of the first day were opened by the First Acting Deputy Minister of MRD, Ali Dula, who emphasized the importance of inter-institutional cooperation and coordination for advancing this process, appreciating the commitment of the institutions and partners involved.
The goal of the workshop is to advance the process of establishing Regional Development Centres through coordinating activities and drafting the necessary documents for the next phase of implementation.
During the first working session, the results and summary of the meetings held in the seven development regions with the mayors and representatives of the municipalities were presented, highlighting the main findings, challenges and opportunities for strengthening regional cooperation.
Following the proceedings, representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and the Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) held constructive discussions and exchanged ideas and proposals for advancing the process of establishing Regional Development Centres, with a focus on harmonizing actions and strengthening inter-institutional coordination.
The workshop will continue tomorrow with discussions on the role of the Regional Development Agencies in supporting the process, modalities of inter-institutional cooperation and coordination, drafting subsequent documents for the implementation of the Inter-Municipal Cooperation Agreement, as well as finalizing the documents, agreeing on the next steps and dividing responsibilities for their implementation.
In addition to representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development, the meeting was also attended by representatives of the Regional Development Agencies (RDAs).
