Today, on 25.06.2026, the Acting Minister of the Ministry of Regional Development, Rasim Demiri , and the Acting Minister of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, have signed the initiative to establish Regional Development Centers in the seven development regions of Kosovo. This initiative aims to strengthen balanced regional development, increase inter-municipal cooperation and improve the efficiency of public investments at the national level.
Regional Development Centres will serve as mechanisms for coordinating development policies, identifying regional priorities, and promoting investments that directly impact improving the quality of life of citizens. They aim to create a more favourable environment for economic development, increase the efficiency of public investments and utilize development potential through inter-institutional cooperation.
This initiative represents an important step towards sustainable regional development by enabling better coordination between municipalities and central institutions, aimed at increasing citizens’ well-being and the socio-economic development of the regions of Kosovo.
