Today, 25.05.2026, the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD) organized an information workshop as part of the launch of the public call for the Balanced Regional Development Program (BRDP) 2026 – support for existing businesses.
The purpose of this workshop was to present the program’s objectives, application criteria, administrative procedures, and provide clarifications to interested parties, with a focus on ensuring equal access and transparent information for all potential applicants.
In his opening remarks, the Acting Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Rasim Demiri, emphasized that through this program, the MRD aims to support existing businesses, promote local and regional socio-economic development, and create greater opportunities for growth, employment, and competitiveness in all regions of the country.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ylber Çitaku, Acting General Secretary of the MRD, appreciated the importance of institutional coordination and cooperation between the central and local levels to ensure a more efficient and transparent application and evaluation process.
After the introductory part, the workshop continued with a panel discussion and conversation with the participants. The panelists presented the main aspects of the program, the application criteria, the required documentation and the administrative procedures.
The workshop was concluded by the Acting General Secretary of the MRD, who presented the conclusions and recommendations arising from the discussions, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation between institutions and the business community for the most successful implementation of the program.
This workshop was attended by: Directors/representatives of Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), Directors of Economic Development Directorates from Municipalities, representatives and business owners from different regions of the country and other RDA officials.
