Department of Regional Development
Duties and responsibilities of the Department for Regional Development are:
- Contributes to the co-ordination of regional development activities, line ministries, municipalities, regional development agencies, and other actors;
- Contributes to the coordination of activities to support economic development and regeneration of new jobs, with line ministries, municipalities, regional development agencies as well as other actors;
- Co-ordinate activities with line ministries for development and participation in regional initiatives;
- Cooperates with line ministries, municipalities, regional development agencies, and other stakeholders to support and promote businesses;
- Coordinates the implementation of IPA Programs related to regional development, in cooperation with relevant institutions and other stakeholders;
- Identifies and coordinates the activity of donor cooperation;
- It prepares, coordinates and ensures the implementation of the annual development and management plan for regional development projects from the category of Capital Investments and Subsidies and Transfers for Municipalities, Businesses and CSOs.
- Launches the Regional Development Program Balanced: Capital Investments and Subsidies and Transfers.
- Develops and manages projects from the category of capital and subsidies and transfers to provide balanced socio- economic development throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as promoting them.
- Drafts project financing criteria and publishes / promotes the same
- Compiles the guidelines for drafting the project proposals and for monitoring their realization.
- It compiles annual reports to the Government on regional development programs and initiatives.
The Head of the Department for Regional Development reports to the Secretary General of the MRD.
