The duties and responsibilities of the Division for the development and coordination of regional initiatives are as follows:

• Develops regional initiatives in terms of balanced regional socio-economic development and coordinates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the line ministries in this area;
• Plans and prepares action plan for participation in regional initiatives;
• Coordinates regional co-operation activities with line ministries, other institutions as well as international mechanisms operating in the Republic of Kosovo;
• Prepares the positions of the Ministry for participation in regional initiatives and meetings;
• Drafts the annual report to the Government on the implementation of programs and participation in regional initiatives.
• Head of the Division for Development and Coordination of Regional Initiatives, reports to Head of Department for Regional Development.
• The number of employees in the Division for Development and Coordination of Regional Initiatives is two (2).

The Head of the Department for Regional Development reports to the Secretary General of the MRD.
