Today, on 10 December 2020, the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH held the virtual workshop on “Monitoring the Balanced Regional Socio-Economic Development in Kosovo". Relevant departments of MRD, Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) and representatives of GIZ were invited to this workshop.
This workshop was organized in order to present programs, policies and activities in the field of regional development and to interweave opportunities for cooperation between the two organizations. The Ministry of Regional Development presented its strategic orientations, programs and policies for regional development as well as all activities related to the monitoring of balanced regional socio-economic development.
On the other hand, representatives of GIZ also presented their programs which are being implemented in coordination with the central and local level, and delivered a presentation of the project of Municipal Performance Grant for Waste Management, a project implemented through a tripartite agreement between GIZ, MEE and MLG. During the meeting, the participants discussed in detail the modalities and opportunities for cooperation and support that GIZ can provide in terms of staff resources, workshops and joint implementation of schemes to support capital projects in the municipalities of Kosovo.
The meeting was concluded according to the planned agenda and it was agreed that the parties lay the first foundations of cooperation by identifying common interests in the field of regional development.
