Today, on 10.12.2020, the Office of the Language Commissioner (OLC) and the Mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in Kosovo (OSCE), awarded the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD) with the prize "Best Practice in the implementation of Law on the Use of Languages in Kosovo”.

The prize is received by the MRD at an Online event organized by the Office of the Language Commissioner and the OSCE Mission in Kosovo. During the speech delivered by the representatives of the two abovementioned, they emphasized that until the awarding of this prize, a long process of evaluation of central level institutions has been conducted, focusing on the evaluation of official and electronic / social websites, on the basis of clear and pre-approved criteria.

The prize from MRD was virtually received by Ms. Arta Maloku - Head of Division for Public Communication, who, on behalf of the Ministry of Regional Development, thanked the organizers for the evaluation and that this evaluation is very important and an additional motivation to continue working with commitment and fully respecting the freedoms and rights of all communities in Kosovo.

The Ministry of Regional Development, in addition to publishing in the official languages of Albanian - Serbian, this year has practiced publishing information on social networks in Turkish and English languages.

The Public Communication Division is grateful and thankful about the continuous support given by the Minister Mr. Enis Kervan, Secretary General Mr. Besim Kamberaj and all MRD staff.

MRD remains open for cooperation with the Office of the Language Commissioner, other institutions and international partners, in terms of respecting the relevant legislation in force for official languages and fulfilling the mandate to advance balanced socio-economic regional development in Kosovo.
