Today, on 23.12.2020, the Minister of Regional Development, Mr Enis Kervan, together with MRD Deputy Secretary General, Mr Besim Kamberaj, and Ms Mrika Gashi, Director of ARDA and RDA Centre, visited the Municipality of Obiliq.

Minister Kervan was received in a meeting by the Mayor of Obiliq, Mr Xhafer Gashi, with his collaborators. The meeting in question discussed the cooperation conducted so far between MRD and the Municipality of Obiliq, as well as other topics of interest to the socio-economic development of the Municipality of Obiliq, and the cooperation that this Municipality has with other municipalities in the Regional Development Centre. Mayor Gashi thanked Minister Kervan and expressed his gratitude to the MRD regarding the support it is constantly providing to municipalities in the context of advancing public infrastructure and supporting micro and small businesses. The Municipality of Obiliq has been a beneficiary of capital projects from the MRD, which have been very useful and have had a positive impact on the socio-economic development of the Municipality. Minister Kervan and Mayor Gashi identified a number of potential ideas for cooperation between the municipalities of this region and assessed the need to support the MRD in the coming years. Minister Kervan stressed that he is making efforts to find support from strategic international partners as well, in order to increase the opportunity to support even larger municipality projects that have an impact on balanced regional development.

Finally, the Minister expressed the will and commitment of the MRD for the continuation of further cooperation with municipalities, in order to advance the balanced socio-economic development of Kosovo.
