Today, on 26 March 2021, in the premises of the Ministry of Regional Development, a meeting was held between the representatives of MRD and GIZ, in order to concretize the topics and design a cooperation agreement for the future.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Secretary General of MRD Mr. Besim Kamberaj and the Director of the Department for Planning and Regional Socio-Economic Analysis, Mr. Blerim Hasani. While, from GIZ, participants were: Mr. Avni Sfishta, Project Manager "Sustainable Municipal Services", Mrs. Vjollca Behluli and Drita Binaj, Project Advisor.

Representatives from both sides discussed the results of the discussions of previous meetings, topics that were mainly agreed on cooperation in 2021, as well as activities planned for a longer period 2022 - 2024. Topics discussed were: cooperation in building a regional performance system, providing technical/professional support from GIZ to the MRD in terms of developing policies and legislation in the field of regional development, as well as designing joint MDA-GIZ schemes, supporting municipalities in waste treatment and management.

In the end, since the parties have already agreed on areas and topics of cooperation, they agreed to hold the next meeting very soon in order to finalize the cooperation agreement.
