Today, on 19/05/2021, the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD) presented to the municipalities, civil society, as well as businesses in the North region, the document of the Regional Development Strategy. The introductory speech was given by Mr Fikrim Damka, Minister of the Ministry of Regional Development, who among other things emphasized that the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD), in the course of its work, has achieved progress in terms of drafting policies and strategic documents, such as drafting and approving the "Regional Development Strategy 2020-2030” on 26.02.2021 by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, and has started the work for the establishment of the working group for drafting the “Law on Regional Development”. The meeting was also greeted by Deputy Secretary of MRD, Besim Kamberaj, who stressed that MRD, considering its legal mandate, has continued with the implementation of numerous activities in order to plan and promote balanced regional development in Kosovo. Also, in his speech on the occasion, Mr Agim Bahtiri, Mayor of South Mitrovica, expressed the readiness for cooperation as well as the support of projects that have an inter-municipal and regional character, with the main goal of stimulating equal economic development.

The Regional Development Strategy was unveiled in front of the audience by Mr Arbnor Sadiku - Head of the Division for European Integration, in MRD, who emphasized that the document "Regional Development Strategy 2020-2030" reflects the challenges, problems and setbacks in Kosovo in the field of regional development that need to be addressed in order to promote policies of equal economic development between the economic development regions of Kosovo.

The meeting was also attended by Ms Rreze Duli, Head of MRD in North, as well as representatives of civil society and the business community in the North development region, who had the opportunity to discuss this document with the Minister and other participants in the meeting.
