Today, on July 6, 2021, the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD), in cooperation with the Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI), organized a first workshop of the Working Group regarding the process of drafting the Draft Law on Regional Development.
The workshop was opened with a speech by the Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Agon Dobruna, who greeted all those present at the workshop and thanked KLGI for support and cooperation with MARD.
The participants were also greeted by the Executive Director of the KLGI Institute, Mr. Valmir Gashi, who on behalf of the KLGI expressed the readiness to support MRD during the drafting of the draft Law on Regional Development.
Mrs. Vjendita Avdiu - Musliu, Deputy Director of the Department for Planning and Socio - Economic Regional Analysis and Chair of the Working Group for drafting the Draft Law on Regional Development continued with the presentation of the first session of the workshop where the Action Plan and deadlines for drafting the draft law on regional development were discussed and followed by the second session where the initial draft of the Draft Law on Regional Development was presented.
During the workshop it was discussed and commented on the first part of the draft law where different opinions were shared about the priorities of regional development policies and coordination of other sectorial policies for balanced regional socio-economic development in Kosovo. The goals, principles and policy makers for promoting balanced regional development were also presented.
The workshop was attended by: Mr. Agon Dobruna - Deputy Minister of MRD, Mr. Almir Veliji - Deputy Minister of MRD, Mr. Valmir Gashi - Executive Director of the KLGI Institute, Mrs. Vjendita Avdiu-Miusliu - Deputy Directors of DPASER and Chair of the Working Group, RDA representatives, representatives from the Line Ministries, the representative from the Association of Kosovo Municipalities and other representatives from the Minister of Regional Development..
