Today, on 04.08.2021, the Minister of Regional Development, Fikrim Damka, participated in the inauguration of works of the second phase for the Project “Construction of a Kindergarten for Children” in the city of Skenderaj.

Minister Damka and the Mayor of Skenderaj, Bekim Jashari, visited the place where they inaugurated the start of works of the second phase of the Public Kindergarten Project for Children in Skenderaj, co-financed by MRD (in the amount of € 80,000.00).

This is the second year that the project “Construction of Kindergarten for Children” is co-financed by the Ministry of Regional Development (in 2020, MRD had allocated 70,000.00 €). Based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Minister of Regional Development and the Mayor of Skenderaj, this funding is the co-financing of the second and final phase of this facility which, according to the dynamic plan, ends within 2021.

Minister Damka emphasized that he is happy that as MRD, they are contributing to the country that gave a lot to Kosovo. “I am happy to be present here and of course, same as in the past, both in this project and also in the future, we will contribute as much as the budget allows us and for the fact that this city gave a lot for our society, therefore, we are proud that we somehow manage to contribute with this project because it all starts with the children”

The Mayor of Skenderaj, Bekim Jashari, thanked Minister Damka, and stressed that the project co-financed by the Ministry of Regional Development will be built in accordance with norms and standards, and it will serve the children of Neighbourhood No.2 of the city and not only, and consequently will indirectly affect the socio-economic development of the municipality.

In this ceremony, the Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Director of the Department for Regional Development, Ylber Çitaku, and other representatives from the Ministry.
