Today on August 16, 2021, Minister of Regional Development Mr. Fikrim Damka together with Dr. Gerhard Schaumberger - Director of Swiss Caritas in Kosovo and Mr. Kreshnik Basha - Deputy Director / Program Manager for Kosovo signed a three (3) year cooperation agreement to contribute to the advancement of regional socio-economic development in Kosovo.

The purpose of this agreement is to coordinate activities and support each other in promoting a balanced regional socio-economic growth in Kosovo in line with the priorities of MRD and CACH. Furthermore, it defines the basis for future ways of cooperation and co-funding of projects by CaCH and MRD within the approved projects.

This is a cooperation which is established for a period of three (3) years of implementation, where MRD will contribute with co-funding in the amount of 40% of the total value. This co-funding will support capital projects, businesses, capacity building as well as other administrative or human resource costs within the objectives of these projects.

The parties also agreed to coordinate activities related to the implementation of regional development projects, in the field of integration, revenue generation and climate change.

By signing of a memorandum of cooperation worth EUR 2.6 million, MRD and Swiss Caritas express the desire to contribute to the advancement of regional socio-economic development in Kosovo, aiming to improve relations and mutual cooperation, including areas of cooperation on issues of Integration, Revenue Generation and Climate Change, ensuring the exchange of experience, representing the public interest and common interests in view of developing relations and policies aimed at enhancing balanced regional development.
