The aim of the workshop was to discuss and present the draft Draft Law on Regional Development and to incorporate the comments upon the completion of this document.

First of all, this law determines the long-term priorities of the regional development policy and enables the coordination of other sectoral policies for balanced regional socio-economic development in Kosovo.

During the meeting, the importance of this law was emphasized for the elimination of challenges, problems and setbacks in the field of regional development and to address them in the document in order to approximate the regional development policies of the EU.

The workshop was attended by: Mr. Agon Dobruna - Deputy Minister of MRD, Mr. Almir Veliji - Deputy Minister of MRD, Mr. Besim Kamberaj - Deputy Secretary General of MRD, Mr. Valmir Gashi - Executive Director of the KLGI Institute, Mrs. Rozafa Ukimeraj - Legal Expert engaged in GIZ, Mrs. Vjendita Avdiu-Miusliu - Deputy Director of DPASER and Chair of the Working Group, representatives of RDAs, representatives from the Office of the Prime Minister, representatives from line ministries and other representatives from the Ministry of Regional Development.

This activity was realized within the ‘Dialogue for European Municipalities (DEM)’ project, funded by the Norway Embassy in Kosovo.
