Today, on 12 October 2021, MRD organized the workshop with the Bureau for Regional Development of the Republic of Northern Macedonia. The purpose of this workshop was to start the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two Ministries – the Ministry of Regional Development of the Republic of Kosovo and the Ministry of Local Self-Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.

In order to exchange experiences from similar processes between the two countries, both parties made presentations. The first session of the workshop began with the presentation of the achievements, difficulties and goals of MRD in Regional Initiatives, Presentation of MRD Programs, presentation of analyses for balanced regional socio-economic development in Kosovo and the presentation of the “Regional Development Strategy 2020-2030”.

The second session of the workshop continued with the presentation of models and chronology of the establishment, functioning and activity of the Bureau for Regional Development of the Republic of North Macedonia. The criteria for evaluation and monitoring of regional development and the financing of equal regional development and centres of planning regions in the framework of the law on equal development in North Macedonia were also presented.

Also, the RDA representative in Kosovo presented and informed about the work and achievements of RDA since their establishment until today.

Therefore, considering the importance of cooperation between the two ministries, the parties agreed to continue cooperation with special emphasis on the organization and functioning of regional development.

The workshop was attended by: Besim Kamberaj, Deputy Secretary-General of MRD, Ramiz Rexhepi, Director of the Bureau for Regional Development of North Macedonia, Yildiray Bayram - Chief of Cabinet of the Minister of MRD, RDA representatives, representatives from the Bureau for Regional Development of the Republic of North Macedonia, Directors and officials from RDA.
