Today, on 4 November 2021, MRD organized the fifth worker (5) regarding the process of drafting the Draft Law on Regional Development. This workshop was conducted in cooperation and coordination with GIZ.
The purpose of the workshop was to present the first advanced Draft Law on Regional Development which defines the basic principles of regional development management, orientations, responsibilities of institutions, financial instruments and rules for balanced regional development in the Republic of Kosovo.
The first session of the workshop started with the presentation of the first advanced draft law on Regional Development, a presentation made by the Legal Expert engaged by GIZ, where the work continued with the presentation of the advanced draft law on Regional Development and comments were incorporated and harmonized during the presentation made by Mrs. Vjendita Avdiu Musliu - chair of the working group.
The second session of the workshop continued with the presentation by Mr. Alban Kaciu - Expert on Planning and Cost-KLGI, who presented the financial aspects related to the draft law on regional development. Institutional structure responsible for regional development, framework of strategic documents to promote harmonized planning of regions, financing instruments and financial schemes to promote regional development as well as other aspects that ensure the promotion of balanced regional development.
During the workshop, aspects of regional development financing were analyzed to be addressed in the document in order to approximate regional development policies within the draft law on regional development. The workshop completed the works and resulted in constructive work, concrete comments and suggestions.
The workshop was attended by: Mr. Yildiray Bayram - Chief of Cabinet MRD, Mr. Jeton Oruçi - Legal and Institutional Advisor at GIZ, Legal Expert engaged by GIZ, Mr. Alban Kaciu - expert from KLGI, RDA representatives, representative from the Office of the Prime Minister, representatives from the Minister of Line and the Ministry of Finance, KAS as well as representatives from the Division of public communication, internal and legal audit and the department for European Integration within the MRD.
