Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Fikrim Damka, on 10.11.2021 held a meeting with the head of EULEX, Mr. Lars-Gunnar Wigemark.

During the meeting were discussed about the activities of the Ministry of Regional Development, projects and programs, capital investments and support of associations, especially the support of women entrepreneurs, taking into account gender equality as a priority.

Regarding the small number of women in the Kosovo labour market (14%), Minister Damka stressed that especially the law being prepared for regional development will determine the national regional development program.

They also exchanged views on the role of women in development and what needs to be done to take an active role in production and the labour market, given the low percentage of active women in the labour force. The work that can be done for women and non-majority communities in the private sector and public institutions was discussed as well as the issues that need to be supported..

The Head of EULEX, Mr. Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, thanked for the hospitality and exchange of information and stated that they are ready to provide support to this ministry.
