The Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Fikrim Damka, at the invitation of Mrs. Anna ROSTOCKA, Head of Mission of IOM (International Organization for Migration), on 13.12.2021 participated in the meeting where the objectives of the IOM strategy for the next period 2022-2025 were presented. This document has an important role in challenging the identification of roles, responsibilities and challenges in the field of migration, but also in the work of IOM for cooperation with the Kosovo authorities.

The Minister, Mr. Damka, accompanied by the Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Besim Kamberaj, presented the programs of the Ministry of Regional Development which are related to the objectives of the IOM strategy where the Minister also confirmed the readiness for cooperation.

Mrs. Anna ROSTOCKA, Head of IOM Mission stressed that it is necessary to build synergies with all stakeholders and to be in line with global priorities and the envisaged sustainable intervention for migration. This document is a key tool to articulate the role, objectives and impact of IOM in Kosovo, and presents a forward-looking strategy for IOM's engagement in Kosovo. It further provides an overview of the current migration situation and identifies some key trends and challenges.
