Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Regional Development, Mr Agon Dobruna, in the framework of the meetings with ambassadors of the Western Balkans and the EU to Kosovo, met today the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Kosovo, Mr Çağrı Sakar.
In the meeting, Deputy Minister Dobruna was accompanied by Mr Ergin Bunjaku, senior advisor to the Minister of Regional Development, Mr Fikrim Damka, as well as Mr Arbnor Sadiku, Head of the Division for European Integration.
Deputy Minister Dobruna and Ambassador Sakar discussed a number of topics related to the field of balanced regional development in Kosovo. In this context, Deputy Minister Dobruna informed Ambassador Sakar about the mandate of the Ministry of Regional Development, the achievements of 2021 and the plans for 2022. One of the topics which was presented by Deputy Minister Dobruna and which was related to 2022 was the international conference on "Challenges and perspectives of advancing regional development in the Western Balkans” to be organized by MRD on 24 – 25 March 2022, where the Republic of Turkey will be invited too. For this activity, Mr Dobruna asked for the cooperation of Mr Sakar for organizing and forwarding invitations and other communications through the Embassy to the competent representatives of regional development of the Republic of Turkey.
After presenting the purpose of the meeting and topics of interest to both parties, Ambassador Sakar welcomed and positively assessed the organization of an international conference in the field of regional development, emphasizing that Turkey has made great achievements in this field and has many things to present in the conference in question. Whereas, regarding the organization of the conference and the communications with the representatives of the Republic of Turkey, Mr Sakar offered his readiness and willingness to cooperate. In the end, taking into account all the topics discussed and the will of the parties for cooperation, the parties agreed to hold other meetings and communications in the near future.
