The Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Fikrim Damka, today, 23 February 2022, paid an official visit to Skopje, where he met with the Minister of the Ministry of Local Self-Government of North Macedonia, Mr. Goran Milevski.

The purpose of the visit was to continue the cooperation agreement signed between the two ministries last year, to expand cooperation for the implementation of activities, to prepare programs that can be implemented for the purpose of socio-economic development between the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of North Macedonia.

Minister Mr. Damka expressed his gratitude to the Minister Mr. Milevski for the welcome and stressed that the reason for today's visit, in addition to the cooperation we have concretized with the cooperation agreement signed at the meeting between the two governments on 16.09.2021 in Skopje-North Macedonia is the International Conference on Regional Development "Challenges and perspectives of regional development in the Western Balkans" which is planned to be held on 24-25.03.2022, where the Ministry of Local Self-Government of North Macedonia is also invited.
The Minister of Local Self-Government of North Macedonia, Mr. Goran Milevski, also expressed his gratitude to his counterpart Mr. Fikrim Damka, who expressed readiness for cooperation in order to advance the socio-economic development between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of North Macedonia.

The meeting continued with discussions between the two countries and exchange of experiences in the field of Regional Development, exchange of experiences on the role and tasks of responsible authorities at local level, cross-border cooperation programs and transnational programs within EU territorial cooperation, as well as other issues of common interest in accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation.

During today's visit, Minister Damka was accompanied by Mr. Prindon Sadriu - Acting Ambassador of Kosovo in Skopje, Mr. Almir Veliji - Deputy Minister of MRD, Mr. Besim Kambjeraj - Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Ercan Şilik - Advisor to the Minister, Mr. Ylber Çitaku Deputy Director of DRD and Mrs. Arta Maloku - Head of DKP.
