The Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Fikrim Damka, today, on 1 March 2022, paid an official visit to Sofia, where he met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development and Public Works in the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Grozdan Karadjov.
The purpose of the meeting was to expand cooperation in the field of regional development, exchange of experiences as well as the preparation of programs for access to EU funds with special emphasis on transnational programs.
Minister Mr. Damka expressed his gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of RDPW Mr. Karadjov for the welcome, where he stressed that the reason for today's visit in addition to cooperation, where there was an agreement on a memorandum of cooperation in the near future which will be signed between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Bulgaria in the field of Regional Development, is also the possibility of participation of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works of Bulgaria in the Conference for Regional Development which is organized by MRD in Prishtina on 24-25.03.2022.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for RDPW in the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Grozdan Karadjov also expressed his gratitude to his counterpart Mr. Fikrim Damka who expressed readiness for cooperation in order to advance socio-economic development between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Bulgaria.
The meeting continued with talks between the two countries with the discussion and exchange of experiences in the field of Regional Development, exchange of experiences on transnational programs in the framework of EU territorial cooperation, as well as other issues of common interest.
Minister Mr. Damka was accompanied by the Ambassador Mr. Delfin Pllana, Deputy Secretary General Mr. Besim Kamberaj, Ms. Arta Maloku-Head of DPC, Mr. Ercan Silic-Political Advisor and Mr. Mustafa Avdiu- Deputy Ambassador.
