Today, on 08 March 2022, the Minister of Regional Development Fikrim Damka visited the Albanian Union in the Republic of Croatia, where he met with the President of the Union, Esad Çollaku,
The delegation from Kosovo was composed of the Minister, Mr. Fikrim Damka, Deputy Minister, Mr. Agon Dobruna, Senior Political Advisor, Mr. Ergin Bunjaku and the Director of the Department for Planning and Socio-Economic Analysis, Mrs. Vjendita Avdiu Musliu. They were received by the President of the Union, Esad Çollaku, together with other members of the Albanian Community of the Prefecture of Zagreb, the Shkendia Cultural Group, and other members of the Union.
The Union and its branches were presented in this meeting, including the work it does, investments for the opening of Houses of Culture in 6 prefectures of Croatia, 17 schools in the Albanian language in the Republic of Croatia, good cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo, the Embassy of the Republic of Albania and the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as the close cooperation with the Albanian MP in the Croatian Parliament, Mrs. Ermina Lekaj Prljaskaj.
During the conversation, President Çollaku also mentioned the sacrifices of Albanians which were extremely numerous over the years.
The meeting continued with conversation, discussion and exchange of experiences, and it was emphasized that there will be increased cooperation between the Government of Kosovo and the Government of Croatia for the protection of rights of the Albanian community in Croatia.
