The Ministry of Regional Development is co-financing and supporting the YENI Project, a project that will be implemented by CARITAS Switzerland in Kosovo.
The Ministry of Regional Development in this information session was presented by Ylber Çitaku, Deputy Director of the Department for Regional Development, who was accompanied by MRD officials, Mr Hamit Krasniqi and Mrs Elif Perolli.
Mr Çitaku among other things said: MRD within the Regional Development Program has managed to cooperate with CARITAS Switzerland for the YENI project, a project which starts to be implemented in 2022 and ends in 2024, within this time period, 60 High Schools from about 15 Municipalities of Kosovo will benefit from this Project.
The main goal of the YENI project is to take concrete climate action and improve environmental protection in Kosovo municipalities through the active engagement of young people.
The YENI project is designed to help local authorities in Kosovo increase their capacity to address the country's vulnerabilities to climate change, focusing on the long-term plan for young people through schools and education in the local context, therefore appealed to the Directors of Municipal Education Directorates to work diligently regarding the implementation of this project which will benefit students, teachers, schools, municipalities and above all the environment.
Lastly, I thank the Director of CARITAS Switzerland in Kosovo, Mr Gerhard Schaumberger, and the Director of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, Mr Sazan Ibrahimi, for their contribution, and I wish success to the Project Manager, Mr Kreshnik Basha in the implementation of the YENI Project.
