Today, 14 April 2023, the Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Fikrim Damka, hosted the Head of Development Cooperation at the German Embassy, Mrs. Vera Baumann.

During the meeting, Mrs. Baumann was briefed on the Ministry's plans, strategic documents and processes. Ms. Baumann thanked the Minister for the meeting, the hospitality and the progress towards the signing of the Agreement of Understanding between the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The second part of the meeting continued with the signing ceremony of the agreement between the Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Fikrim Damka, and the Director of GIZ for Kosovo, Mr. David Oberhuber. The purpose of this agreement is the coordination of activities and mutual support between the governments of Kosovo and Germany towards achievements related to balanced regional socio-economic development in Kosovo, as well as the coordination of activities for inter-municipal cooperation in the waste management sector.

The parties agreed on a future cooperation between the MRD and the programs financed by the German Government, implemented by GIZ-Kosovo, as well as the implementation of the Agreement of Understanding.

Project advisors who work for sustainable municipal services at GIZ Kosovo, Mr. Jeton Oruci and Mrs. Vjollca Behluli., were also present at the meeting.
