On 18 May 2023, within the project "Youth's Impact on the Environment" co-financed by the Ministry of Regional Development and the Swiss Caritas Office in Kosovo, the Eco Club of Xhevdet Doda Gymnasium in Prishtina, in cooperation with the implementing partner Green Art Center developed and implemented the environmental project: "Reducing the Carbon Footprint".
The general goal of the project is to take care of the environment and the surroundings of the school premises, reducing the use of components that damage the environment through raising awareness through the activities and contributions of the Eco-Club. Making the school a green school in terms of saving water, electricity and raising individual awareness, through the development of advocacy activities (lectures and discussions, videos, posters, etc.) that address the ways that everyone can have an impact positive in the current climate situation.
As a result of the implementation of the project, students have become aware of the environment, becoming initiators of new changes in favor of the environment.
At the occasion, participants were addressed by the Deputy Director of the Gymnasium, Bardhyl Kabashi, Director of Swiss Caritas based in Switzerland, Mrs. Sandra Ege, who distributed certificates of appreciation, project manager of the Swiss Caritas Office in Kosovo, Mr. Bardh Xërxa, the representative of the MRD, Mr. Shani Hamitaga, and the representative of Green Art Center, Mr. Lorik Muqaj.
The Eco Club within the YENI Project is co-financed by the Ministry of Regional Development, the Swiss Caritas Office in Kosovo and the Municipal Education Directorate of the Municipality of Pristina.
