The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Regional Development, Mr. Almir Veliji, together with the Chief of Cabinet, Mr. Yildiray Bajram, and the Political Advisor, Mr. Furkan Ago, participated in the Southeast Europe beyond the Leadership Dialogue conference "Leadership towards a regional digital compact" held in Thessaloniki, Greece between May 24 and 26, 2023.

Deputy Minister Veliji gave a speech on digital transformation in the era of cross-border investments and economic diplomacy, discussing whether Kosovo, as part of the Western Balkans, will become a future investment point. At this conference, there were presentations and discussions on cyber security, the fight against disinformation and data protection. It was also emphasized that technology has brought new challenges to the security and reliability of information and it is our duty to respond to these challenges responsibly.

The conclusions pointed out that technology has created new opportunities for the spread of false information, but artificial intelligence can be our strong tool to end this challenge. Artificial intelligence (AI) can identify, analyze and evaluate information with high speed and precision. Through smart algorithms, it can detect patterns of misinformation and help distribute accurate information.

Deputy Minister Veliji emphasized that Kosovo with its potential of new personnel in technology promises a lot to become a serious country in this field.
