On 30 May 2023, the joint workshop of the Ministry of Regional Development was held in cooperation with the Swiss Caritas regarding the activities and results of the implementation of the YENI project for the year 2023.

The workshop was aimed at evaluating the progress in the one year anniversary of the start of the implementation of the YENI project. The achievements so far were presented in the workshop and they were evaluated as impressive by the participants.

The Ministry of Regional Development was represented by Mr. Ylber Çitaku, Deputy Director of the Department for Regional Development. Mr. Çitaku expressed the willingness and readiness of the MRD to contribute to projects aimed at climate change, as is the case with the YENI project, which has a direct impact on climate change and the improvement of the environmental and living environment.

On behalf of the Ministry of Regional Development, Mr. Çitaku thanked the leaders of the Swiss CARITAS led by Mr. Gerhard Schaumberger, the implementing partners and the municipal directorates of education for the results so far.

The YENI project during the implementation of the activities benefited 60 schools in 16 municipalities. Through this project, these schools have established eco-clubs where students, teachers, schools and the community in general have benefited.
