Today, on 05 June 2023, Mrs. Arta Maloku, Head of the DPC at the Ministry of Regional Development, participated in the virtual training on "Practices for the protection of whistleblowers" organized by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Kosovo Institute for Public Administration (KIPA), the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (APC) and the School of Public Leadership at Stellenbosch University of South Africa.

The purpose of the training was to discuss whistleblower protection practices and whistleblowers' personal experiences and public trust in state institutions.

In this training, representatives from the School of Public Leadership at Stellenbosch University of South Africa shared their experiences in law enforcement, their practices for reporting a suspected corruption action or practice by whistleblowers in the public and private sectors, mechanisms for protection of whistleblowers and the obligations of public authorities and private entities in relation to whistleblowing.

This training was a good opportunity for the participants from the Republic of Kosovo to get experiences from the representatives of South Africa in terms of prevention and combat of corruption in the public and private sector, and the protection of individuals who signal suspected acts of corruption in their workplaces.
