On 14 September 2023, the Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Fikrim Damka participated in the Conference of the Forum for Regional Development - Dukagjini (FER-D) with the topic "Discussion Forum for Higher Education and Regional Economic Development in Kosovo".

The Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Fikrim Damka, on this occasion addressed the participants with a speech where he emphasized that the Ministry of Regional Development and "Haxhi Zeka" University in Peja have a cooperation agreement in order to promote balanced regional socio-economic development in Kosovo. The Minister also stated that the two institutions aim to promote together a balanced regional socio-economic growth in Kosovo in accordance with the priority of the Ministry of Regional Development and the "Haxhi Zeka" University in Peja.

At the conference, thematic sessions were organized where topics related to the strategic framework for economic development in Kosovo were discussed. Mr. Ali Tafashiku, Deputy Minister of the MRD, discussed as panelist the role of higher education and strategic framework for regional economic development in Kosovo for sustainable economic development, with special emphasis on the objectives and goals of the Ministry of Regional Development.

This event was organized by "Haxhi Zeka" University in Peja (HZU), in cooperation with the municipalities of Peja, Deçan, Istog, Klina, Junik and Malisheva, with the support of HERAS+
