The round table "The role of the local level in the promotion of the Green Agenda" organized by RDA East was held.
The roundtable aimed to provide recommendations of policies and best practices to manage the transformation to a green economy that is organized within the project "Promotion of regional development and the Green Agenda in the East region" supported by the Ministry of Regional Development.
On behalf of the chairperson of the Board of Mayors of Region East, the meeting was opened by Mrs. Leonora Bunjaku Morina, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Gjilan.
Mr. Ylber Çitaku, Acting Director of DRD addressed the attending mayors, deputy mayors and directors of municipal directorates of Region East on behalf of the Ministry for Regional Development. He also congratulated the Director of RDA East, Mr. Agim Zeka, for organizing the event, as well as Mrs. Valbona Tahiri regarding the implementation of the project "Promotion of regional development and the Green Agenda in the Region East".
Among other things, Mr. Çitaku said that municipalities have the main role in planning and providing solutions for a sustainable urban development, always engaging with incorporating the green agenda through a vision that would achieve tangible and measurable results.
The MRD is committed to support municipalities and various organizations with similar projects. Therefore, it is very important to increase the level of cooperation between municipalities and the central level in order to promote the implementation of the Green Agenda as efficiently as possible.
The meeting was also attended by Mrs. Arta Maloku, Head of the DPC, Mr. Hashim Ibishi, Monitoring Officer of RDA East, and Mr. Agim Zeka, Director of the RDA East.
