On 07 December 2023, Mr. Arbnor Sadiku, Head of the Division for European Integrations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in the international video conference "Cefta Week 2023 in Podgorica, Montenegro", where it was further emphasized that in today's digital age, the transformation of trade is not no longer a vision from the distant future, but a tangible reality that is reshaping economies.
More and more people shop online and even go to online stores abroad. Now the trend is clear: "The Internet has become a new source of options for customers and a place of opportunity for businesses."
It was also emphasized at the conference that this is great news, especially for companies from small economies where economies are hindered by physical and political aspects, or even geography.
However, to exploit the full potential of the digital world, real and substantive changes must take place from the countries of the Western Balkans. Also, it was further emphasized at the said conference that in the European Union efforts are coordinated under the umbrella of the Single Digital Market. The Western Balkans and Moldova on the other hand are linked to these initiatives through the Common Regional Market. This was a good opportunity for MRD to exchange new experiences about cooperation and initiatives that include the common Regional Market, between the countries of Western Ballakan.
