During the course of the official visit to Croatia, on the third day - dated 17.05.2024 - the delegation from the Ministry of Regional Development was hosted by the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, Mrs. Spomenka Đurić and the Directors of the respective Departments. During the meeting, the objectives of the national strategy and the government program for regional development in Croatia were presented, as well as the possibilities of concrete cooperation between the two countries in our country's journey to European integration, assistance in the preparation of projects for application to EU funds and the inclusion of Kosovo as a third country in projects that the Croatian state is a beneficiary were also discussed. The Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Croatia, Mr. Martin Berishaj, and the former Albanian deputy in Croatia, Mrs. Ermina Lekaj Perlaskaj, attended the meeting as well.
The agenda of the third day continued in Split, in a meeting with the Vice President of the Prefecture of Dalmatia, Mr. Ante Sosic and with the Rector of the University of Split, Prof. Dr. Sc. Dragan Ljutic. This meeting discussed upon the concrete possibilities of cooperation with Split Prefecture, as a development region with great potential in tourism, economy and education.
Special thanks go to the former deputy and chairman of the Croatian-Kosovo friendship parliamentary group, Mr. Ante Bačić, for the initiatives and concretization of the cooperation between the two countries.
The fourth day of the visit continued in the beautiful city of Split, specifically at the Centre of the Albanian Union, where the delegation of the MRD was hosted by the Deputy Mayor of Split, Mr. Stipe Cogelja and the President of the Albanian Union, Mr. Milaim Shukaj with some of the most successful businessmen of Split. The meeting discussed different topics of cooperation and in particular the visit that a delegation from the Prefecture of Split would conduct to Kosovo in a few days. After the meeting in the premises of the Albanian Union, together with the hosts of the meeting, the MRD delegation continued to the main square in the centre of the city of Split, where the Fair of High Schools was organized, whereby, the future career paths were presented to the high-school graduates of this year.
