Today, on 28 May 2025, the Caretaker Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Fikrim Damka, conducted a working visit to the Municipality of Deçan, where he was received by the Mayor, Mr. Bashkim Ramosaj.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the project proposal “Construction of 8 Connecting Bridges in the Mountainous Area of Deçan for Infrastructure Development and Safe Access for the Local Community and Tourists”, a project proposed by the Municipality of Deçan for co-funding with the MRD. The project aims to improve mountain infrastructure and facilitate movement in areas with high tourism potential.
During the meeting, they also discussed the challenges of the “Zip Line” project for the 2024/2025. This project is foreseen to become a major attraction for adventure and active tourism development in the municipality, but it is currently facing technical and environmental challenges. Nevertheless, the competent authorities of the Municipality of Deçan assured that the project would be finalized within a maximum timeframe of two months.
Following the meeting, Minister Damka, Mayor Ramosaj and the participants visited the area where the bridge construction project is planned to be implemented, where they were informed of the current conditions and the expectations from this investment.
Minister Damka was accompanied during the visit by Deputy Minister, Mr. Elldin Uglari, Director of DRDPC, Mr. Ylber Çitaku and other associates from the MRD.
