From 17 to 20 June 2025, the Ministry of Regional Development actively participated in the Forum for the Prevention of Youth Emigration from Kosovo, organized within the framework of the INTEGRA Project, in the city of Struga in Macedonia.
With the motto “Stay in Kosovo, because it doesn’t get any better”, during this forum, the main reasons for emigration, the most affected age groups, as well as the main destinations of emigration from all participating municipalities and institutions were presented. The MRD presented the latest data on emigration in the seven development regions of Kosovo and its role in the implementation of programs for infrastructure development, support for the private sector and support for civil society organizations, with the aim of reducing regional inequalities and sustainable socio-economic development. These measures aim to prevent internal migration and international emigration.
The forum included discussion panels between central and local level actors, focused on harmonizing development policies to prevent youth emigration from Kosovo.
From the MDR, the following participated: Ms. Shyhrete Kastrati – Director of the Department for Regional Performance and Analysis, Ms. Qefsere Bajrami – Head of the Division for Regional Socio-Economic Analysis and Ms. Blinda Bytyçi – Officer for Balanced Regional Development. The forum was also attended by representatives from 11 partner municipalities, the Vocational Training Center, NGOs and other institutions from the central level.
