The Ministry of Regional Development, on September 11, 2025, organized a workshop on the topic: “Promoting tourism in Kosovo through balanced regional development policies”, supported by Swisscontact.

The workshop was opened by Mrs. Refike Sülçevsi, Acting Secretary General of MRD, who emphasized the importance of balanced development policies for promoting tourism and strengthening the socio-economic development of Kosovo’s regions. In a welcoming speech, the participants were also addressed by the acting Deputy Minister, Mr. Elldin Uglari, who expressed support for initiatives aimed at regional development through tourism.

The workshop continued according to the planned agenda: Mrs. Refike Sülçevsi presented the Law on Balanced Regional Development No. 08/L-190, Mr. Ylber Çitaku - Director of DRDCP presented the Regulation on Management of Balanced Regional Development Programmes as well as programmes for capital investments, grants and support for NGOs, Mr. Arbnor Sadiku - Deputy Director at DEIPC, presented the Regulation on Standards, Methodology and System for Drafting and Monitoring of Operational Plans for Balanced Regional Development, as well as the Regional Development Strategy 2020–2030. Mrs. Arta Ahmeti Xhylani - Director at DPS presented the Regulation on Establishment, Organization and Functioning of Monitoring Centres in Development Regions. Mrs. Shyhrete Kastrati - Director of DAR presented the Regulation on Regional Performance and Monitoring of Balanced Regional Socio-Economic Development, as well as the analysis of capital investments and balanced regional socio-economic development, with an emphasis on supporting the private sector. Mrs. Lindita Ymeri from the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, talked about the importance of tourism in regional development and the driving mechanisms.
