On September 29 and 30, 2025, representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development, Deputy Minister Mr. Elldin Uglari and Acting Secretary Mrs. Refike Sülçevsi, together with collaborators from the Ministry in question, participated in the international conference “Mediterranean Agritourism as a Tool for Tourism and Local and Regional Development in EUSAIR Communities”, held in the city of Bari, Italy.
The conference brought together representatives of public institutions, local authorities, private sector stakeholders, civil society organizations and international experts, who came together to share experiences and best practices on sustainable tourism development. The focus of the discussions was Mediterranean agritourism, considered a powerful tool to strengthen the local economy, preserve cultural and environmental heritage, and promote the sustainability of rural communities.
Participants highlighted the role of agritourism in creating new employment opportunities, promoting local products and increasing the tourist attractiveness of less developed areas. They also highlighted the importance of regional cooperation within the framework of the EUSAIR Strategy, as a space that fosters coordination, knowledge exchange and the implementation of joint projects to face the common challenges of Mediterranean tourism development.
